accounting at Wanchai Stores and to organise the proper

running system of the Stores in connection thereto. I

carried out this work successfully for over 2 years without any further complaint from other departments.

Then on the eve of separation of Accounts from Stores,

I presume some necessity of my experience in accounts

of this department was again felt, and I was recalled

back to Account Section as Senior Clerk in charge,

directly responsible to Mr. Bendall, the Accountant of

P.W.D. (It may be noted that Clerks in Charge of Accounts

Office and Stores Office before me were both in the

Higher Class of the J.C.S., from which I am now left out). Qualifications.- Possess certificates for commercial English and

correspondence, book-keeping, physics, high mathematics,

sanitary science, and three certificates in Cantonese

which I am able to speak fluently (but no allowance).

Special Services & Awards:

1.

I have been a member of Special Constabulary and

Police Reserve forces since their inception.

2.

Appointed Indian Interpreter to the Salary Commission

of 1930, and received the thanks of the commission for

this honorary service (no extra remuneration was given.)

3. Served on the Examination Board for Punjabi and

received aletter of thanks from Hon. I.G.P. (then Mr.

E.D.C. Wolfe) through Hon. D.P.W.

4. Awarded a Coronation Medal for my meritorious

services with the Government.
